Don’t Take Our Word For It…
Over the years, the name Cypress Lawn has become synonymous with quality service. We pride ourselves in going above and beyond for our families. Hear from those we have served in the past why we truly are in a league of our own.

On behalf of the Angeles family, I would like to reach out to you and to Alvin Dougharty, Charlie, Mary Lee, Gail and Juan Gomez and his crew, to express our deepest appreciation for the genuine care and the continuing care that your team has provided us in our time of grief. The unexpected loss of our seven-year-old son Nathaniel had left us uncertain how to handle this kind of situation. The compassion and dedication of your team has reassured us that our little Nate’s resting place is well-cared for at all times. Once again from the bottom of our heart, we thank you and your staff, Alvin, Charlie, Mary, Gail and Juan Gomez and his crew for the kind service that they have provided us.
May God continue to bless you all.

Angela De Benedetto and Alvin Dougharty;
I wanted to reach out to you both personally as I didn’t get to properly introduce myself. Thank you so very much for your sincere services and empathetic manner. You’re all aware that my uncle didn’t have his immediate family here, as such, made this trying time more difficult. You and your team however, significantly aided in our mourning.
I thank you again for assisting our family with such genuine care.
God bless you all.

Thank you for your expertise and fine work with our mother’s (Edda Dyrewit’s) funeral.
Your help made it easy for us and all your suggestions were perfect – from the food to the music.
Thank you for putting up with all the frantic, sporadic calls we made to you. Also for getting things done under the gun or even past deadlines such as the obit and prayer cards. You were very patient with us.
It was a beautiful funeral. Many people who had never been to Cypress Lawn were very impressed by the facility and the funeral.
Madeleine, you helped make this difficult day a lot easier.

Dear Mr. Jensen,
I want to thank you for the exceptional services rendered at a very difficult time for our family. You treated us with kindness, compassion and sensitivity that was so needed at the time. You also went beyond the expected in assisting my sister with the slide show that will become a treasured memento for my family. My family has a long history with Cypress Lawn, having buried several members of our family there, including my infant son. It is so nice to know that your service to us has remained consistent and of high quality.
Thank you so much again.
– The Gonzales Family
Hello Cypress Lawn,
Just a note of thank you for the splendid job your people did for the interment of my wife Marjorie Leonhardt on June 15th. The arrangements for using the family plot were handled smoothly. Again my thanks to all of you and Mike Marks for his personal touch.

Just wanted to tell you once again how much we enjoyed the beautiful Memorial Day service at Cypress Lawn. A ceremony of that size I am sure took quite a bit of behind the scenes hard work and we are grateful to all who helped coordinate it. It was exactly what the day was meant to be, and, of course, it had extra meaning for us.
Dear Mr. Darren Mc Bride,
Thank you so much for attending Katie’s memorial service. Please know that your kindness during this difficult time has meant a lot to our family.
Dear Marybeth, Selena & Jack,
Thank you so much for all you did and all of your contributions to Mary’s service on April 2, 2012. You all were so kind, helpful and made planning a service easy even though I was a distance away. Thank to you all!
Jack your words at the service were great, especially the Horse Lover’s Prayer! Mary would have loved the service! I feel the service would have made Mary very proud!
It may not have seemed like a big deal to you, but it was to me.
Thanks to all
G’day. Hope the week went well for you. I wanted to send you a more personalized thank you rather than an impersonalized e-mail….it is what it is. My thank you being so late, already. This was my first priority before the day is up to convey that you have had an impact on me from the start. Your caring and empathy is a rarity. I am so fortunate that I have befriended you along the way. Your excellent services still continues almost 1 year after my dearly departed. It shows that you are committed and dedicated…good at what you do [above & beyond]. You speak well for your company… an asset! You rock. All the best & cont’d success.
Dear Amelia M. Barquez,
In April this year, I met you at the office where you work. At that time I asked you “I want to look at the crematory where my daughter was cremated seven years ago.” Despite our sudden request you readily guided us to the facilities. My daughter was a student at the state university and loved San Francisco very much. I came quickly from Japan alone hearing the sudden news of my daughter’s death. I was going to go to the crematory with my daughter after the funeral at the ceremony hall. However, I didn’t go because the staff of the ceremony hall said I should not go. They said they had seen the woman who came from Japan alone and became crazy. Her husband was killed. For a long time, I had regretted the fact that I made my daughter go alone. And I was thinking that I have to go to the crematory someday. Because in Japan it’s common for family members and relatives to go to the crematory and then pick up ashes. I imagined the crematory to be a facility like a huge waste treatment center. However I had been ready to see anything. I was very surprised because there was a small, lovely church in the place that you had guided. There were a lot of waterfalls in the beautiful pond near the wide lawn. I thought that my daughter accepted this place. I was sure that you treated my daughter tenderly.
I never forget your kindness.
Thank you very much.
Dear Mr. Varner,
Now that activities connected with the death of my sister have diminished somewhat, I want to take the opportunity to thank you and your wonderful Cypress Lawn staff for the thoughtful and compassionate arrangements performed for her. Both the funeral and burial services were carefully executed with impeccable timing and performance. Amelia Barquez, Sandy Guest and Philip Johnson were outstanding in their areas of responsibility. I can only hope that future arrangements for other family members would be performed as well as the experience I encountered for Gloria. I will always be comforted by the dignified and respectful behavior of Cypress Lawn staff during a difficult period.
Dear Selena and the Cypress Lawn team,
Thank you so much for graciously co-sponsoring our evening of remembrance memorial service. It was a pleasure to work with such a tremendous team of professionals in such a beautiful venue. We so appreciate the generosity you have bestowed towards our Pathways staff and our community of grievers. We value and respect your work and hope to have the privilege of working with your team on future events.
On behalf of the family of my late mother, I would like to thank you for the compassionate, caring, and excellent services that we received from you. Please extend our thanks to Rosalie Manalo who was so gracious and caring in helping us with the decisions we had to do to make mother’s funeral services memorable and special. Please extend also our thanks to Phil Johnson and the staff for being so caring and compassionate. He made sure that whatever help we needed was taken care of in the most expeditious manner. His caring personality helped ease some of the pain of grieving that we were going through. Thank you also to MaryAnn Cruz for taking care of mother – she was so helpful. Many, many thanks for everything. Your facility is beautiful and your services are excellent.
I would like to express my deep gratitude for helping me today!! I know today’s accomplishment could not have been made without your help. I would do my best to make a memorial signature on that spot when I get back to Korea. Again, I really appreciate your help and efforts. I wish God bless you all the way.
Dear Jack and Selena,
You were wonderful to us and everything about Cypress Lawn is tasteful and felt exactly right. Mom was quite the woman and I’m sure she was giving a thumbs-up to all the happenings. I’m sure she loved the rituals and festivities. She loved gatherings so much – and what a perfect reception room. I celebrate her life instead of thinking of her death. How nice it was to have you, Selena, and MaryAnn and all the others who helped guide us through a perfect day. We are grateful for your courteous attention to detail and your respect for our mother and us, her family, and friends.
Thank you for sending two additional videos of my mother’s pictures used at the Cypress Lawn chapel service. Sandy, you did a wonderful job handling the details, services and everything that went into making that day just perfect.
Dear Ken Varner, Jack Jensen, and all the Wonderful Staff at Cypress Lawn:
Thank you for your sincerity, thoughtfulness and help during this sad time. The funeral home staff really went above and beyond the call of duty. The directors and staff constantly checked on my family to see if anything was needed; even a week after the service! Cypress Lawn is truly a five-star cemetery. My family and I are forever grateful for the concern and care you provided us.
Thank you for the great work. Your work received so many compliments from our friends and relatives. Again, thank you!
I want to thank you and each and every staff member of Cypress Lawn who assisted with my husband’s funeral. I’m not sure how to express this in words, but all I can say is that my loving husband was absolutely treated with respect and dignity from the moment he left our home till he reached his final resting place. I thank you, Sandy, Selena, the receptionists, the funeral director and all the others for the wonderful way that I was treated, how my husband was treated, and how smoothly everything went.
Special and heartfelt thanks for all your courtesies, patience and guidance in helping me handle my husband’s burial in an appropriate manner. I especially thank you for your thoughtful gesture of placing a flower in his grave as it was filled. It was a perfect thing to do and gave me and the others the chance to give a final gesture of goodbye to a loved one. My grief is softened by your thoughtful and caring words and deeds.
We wish to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for the services rendered. Mr. German Lopez was invaluable with his helpfulness and kindness. Ms. Mary Ann Cruz performed an outstanding job. It was of great comfort in such circumstances to have these two employees advising and assisting us.
Just a note of thanks for helping me to select the appropriate memorial for my mother. The choice was clearly the best. Just wanted to say thank you.
On behalf of my family, we would like to thank you … for all the wonderful assistance you provided us… Your caring ways and genuine concern greatly helped us in our time of need. We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude for the service and support received from your staff during those hard moments for us. We will not forget the kindness and professionalism of every single staff member and we will not hesitate to recommend your company to friends and the rest of our family…
… In my dealings with Cypress Lawn, I was assisted by Kim Wong. He was very patient and responsive in the months that it took to finalize all the arrangements I was making. I just wanted to express my thanks to him and advise you of how well he treated me and my concerns.
Our heartfelt appreciation for the support and compassion provided for our Dad’s memorial service. Thank you so very much.
Thank you so much for all the help and assistance you and the rest of the Cypress Lawn personnel have done during the wake and funeral of our father. It was very consoling when we look back at the service and how it was done in a very efficient and professional manner.
To Cypress Lawn Staff,
Thank you so much for your help during our difficult time when my daughter died. I am thankful that the decision to become a member of the “Cypress Lawn Family” was done before the need was there. Keep up the good work.
I cannot begin to express how touched I was by your compassion and genuine caring at our meeting to finalize my mother’s funeral plans. My sisters and my husband were equally awed by our special connection… Being there to “hold my hand” at the interment services was the “Amen” on our new friendship. I will stay in touch – ‘til then, may God bless you.
My brother was buried on Saturday, February 13th. I want to thank the maintenance crew and Amelia for being professional and respectful of our feeling on that sad day… My family and I appreciate their kindness and compassion.
Thanks so much for being there for us. You have been a guardian angel who helped us a lot in our difficult time. We really appreciate your kindly assistance and all of your help that you provided us… God bless you always.
Thank you so much for all your help. Your sensitivity and thoughtfulness are very much appreciated.
Thank you for the earlier crematory tour and explaining the process of cremation. Because of your wealth of knowledge and kindness, I was able to ground myself during the process. Thank you.
I came from New Mexico to the cemetery in October with my friend… You found my brother’s grave in the infant section … I think back to that afternoon and remember that you were focused on finding his grave. I know I will remember that for a long time.
