Design The Perfect Farewell
Honor your loved one with superior funeral arrangements by Cypress Lawn Funeral Home.
There are many different types of services.
Choose to have a Complete Funeral Service, including a family or public viewing of the deceased, followed by a service, typically held in one of our chapels or at the funeral home, and ending with burial. You may also select a graveside service where after a visitation at the funeral home, the casket is transferred to the cemetery for a graveside ceremony and burial.
There is a Complete Cremation Service just like a Complete Funeral Service except cremation will follow instead of the casketed burial. This can be accommodated by the use of a rental casket or cremation casket (casket that is designed to be cremated). Following the viewing, service or ceremony, and eventual cremation, the cremated remains can be buried, properly scattered, or returned to the family for permanent possession. Urns are used to hold the cremated remains.
You may also select the Immediate Cremation Service for instant disposition of the body. This is often followed by a memorial service where the body is not present.
Arrange a meaningful service for your loved one to begin the grieving process and gain emotional support and mutual strength from family and friends.
Visitations & Gatherings
Viewing and visitations offer the opportunity to join with family to support one another and share memories. The casket can be open or closed as the family prefers for a visitation. While viewing the deceased can be an important step in acknowledging that death has occurred, arranging a service or ceremony is also paramount to recovery from grief.
For some, a gathering is a more comfortable option, as there is no casket present. A visitation or gathering can be held anywhere that is convenient for family and friends to gather. Let Cypress Lawn help you arrange a meaningful and healing tribute.
Selecting a Casket
The professionals at Cypress Lawn Funeral Home can assist you in making funeral selections that best represent your loved one. Traditional burial entails choosing a casket and a vault. We offer a large selection of caskets and vaults in various price ranges. Caskets can be made from inexpensive materials like pine or expensive materials such as bronze and mahogany. We can personalize caskets, so families can reflect how a loved one lived – with family photos, poems, scriptures, or even a branch of service they proudly served in.
As with most cemeteries, Cypress Lawn requires caskets to be placed in a burial vault capable of withstanding the weight and pressures of the earth above and surrounding the receptacle. This keeps the earth from settling on the grave, which protects the casket and maintains the evenness of the earth, which protects the beauty of the cemetery for families returning.
We can guide you through our extensive selection room and help you understand the best materials and manufacturers to fit your needs and your budget.
